Sounds and Words is designed to support teachers and students to learn about phonological awareness and spelling.  This site is guided by an inquiry framework (improving teaching, improving learning), which explores the learning needs of teachers and students and notices the impact of the teaching. It builds on the (draft) Literacy Learning Progressions in support of the reading and writing standards.

Learning through talk (2009)

These two books, one for Years 1-3 and one for Years 4-8, focus on how teachers can use the dimensions of effective practice to support students in learning about, and using, oral language so that they may become successful learners. This book will help teachers to become more strategic and deliberate in their instructional practice and build their professional knowledge about oral language.
